Make a Joyful NOISE! Join a choir this September! More voices and hands are needed!
Chancel Choir
Has rehearsals at 7:15pm on Wednesday night. This year, most of us are serving in the church’s Beginning Handbell Choir which will provide music for the church services in order to glorify God and teach the congregation through music. We serve the church at the 8:00 service, and at special festival services and concerts throughout the year. We meet in the Sanctuary for rehearsals. All are welcome to join, but sign up with Pat Larson before attending! This choir is for 9th grade on up.
Handbells
Rehearse on Mondays at 6:30pm. We meet in the Sanctuary and play once a month at the 8:00 service and at special festival services and concerts to give praise and honor to God through our church services.
In 2020-2021, there is also a Beginning Handbell Choir meeting on Wednesday nights from 7:15-8:15pm.
Praise Band
Our Praise Band leads and accompanies the songs at the 10:00 service on Sunday morning. Each Sunday the makeup of the band is different, but might include, lead singer, backup singers, drums, piano, bass, electric guitars, acoustic, as well as other instruments such as flute, sax, violin, synth, percussion.
Our lead singers and instrumentalists are scheduled on a rotating and flexible schedule, and typically practice during the week before the Sunday they are scheduled to play.
New members are always welcome in this group. If you are interested in joining, the director will meet with you to find out where your gifts and talents fit best. Please leave a message for our Contemporary Worship Director at the church office for more information.
Joyful Noise
is a Service Choir for 2nd through 8th grades which meets on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:00pm for 10-12 weeks for fall and winter sessions. The main focus of the choir is to serve the church by sharing music in each of the three services about once per month during the school year. A secondary focus of the choir is to use music to impress on our student’s hearts and minds truths of our faith, “God my shepherd gives me all I need” or “All things bright and beautiful…the Lord God made them all” or “Halleluya! We sing your praises, all our hearts are filled with gladness.” Music has an emotional power to heal and teach and develop children, and the music for this choir will hopefully be running through their heads at other times besides during choir rehearsals!
Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists are always welcome to assist with worship and music at Immanuel.
Instrumentalists are needed to play along throughout a worship service as a solo, or a duet, or to join our
brass band or one of our worship bands.
