Confirmation at Immanuel begins each fall, and coincides with the start of the school year.
Students in grades 7 and 8 take an in-depth look at the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism and how they are interpreted in the Lutheran faith tradition. The goal of confirmation is for students to be able to explore their faith, develop faith habits, and publicly profess their faith on Confirmation Day. Confirmation Orientation – If you missed this meeting where 7th grade confirmands received their catechism (and journal), please reach out to Pastor James. Looking for a Bible to use in class? We recommend ESV Study Bible or an NLT Study Bible. You are also welcome to use a Bible that you have at home for our class.
Confirmation Cottages – Students participate in this two-year process of dialogue and instruction. We meet from 4:45p.m. in Luther Hall and stay for dinner at 5:30p.m.! At least one parent attends the class as well. This includes retreats, service opportunities, and classroom discussions. Contact Pastor James for more information.
